Why are URL slugs important for SEO?
A URL slug is the part of the address after the domain — for example in buildifyer.com/services/izrabotka-na-sait, the slug is izrabotka-na-sait.
Google uses URL addresses as a ranking signal. A slug containing the keyword (e.g. izrabotka-na-sait-sofia) helps the search engine understand the page topic. Cyrillic in URLs is technically allowed but problematic — many systems encode it as %D0%B8%D0%B7%D1%80..., which is unreadable and bad for SEO.
Best practices for a good slug: lowercase Latin letters only, words separated by hyphens (-), no special characters, no stop words. This transliteration follows the standard used in most Bulgarian web projects.
